Since 1999 The Virgin Suicides by Sofia Coppola was burned into my ‘girlhood’ brain. It was at that time that I hadn’t quite discovered photography. At least not in the way that it would later on become. I don’t think besides Clueless (directed by Amy Heckerling) had I seen such a film that existed almost in the consciousness of my teenage brain.
